  What is seaweed?  

Seaweed is a type of algae that grows in bodies of water such as oceans and rivers. Seaweed is high in natural nutrients because it grows

in the sea and absorbs the ocean’s rich protein, minerals, and vitamins. For this reason, seaweed is known as a “treasure chest of vitamins.

” The fat content of seaweed is relatively low, accounting for only 1%-2% of total nutrients. However, the EPA content of seaweed is high,

accounting for a whopping 52% of all nutrients! EPA is an omega 3 fatty acid found in salmon, fish oil, and other cold water fish.

EPA lowers the risk of heart disease and is good for cardiovascular health. Seaweed is also composed of minerals and vitamins that help

maintain the body’s acidic balance. Moreover, seaweed is a tasty snack that is low in calories but high in fibre to aid in maintaining a healthy diet.

  海苔的種類  

生海苔:可製成板海苔,用於煮湯及捲壽司。

熟海苔:可製成燒海苔、零食海苔、香鬆、海苔細片及海苔醬,用於手捲、飯糰、零食、配飯及煮湯。

日式海苔:一般多以醬油、加上調味料 ,如香菇粉調味,味道較甜。

韓式海苔:僅以食用油如麻油、植物油加上鹽調味,味道較接近海苔原味。
